Actualmente, as sec\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o possuem chefes nomeados devido \u00e0 suspens\u00e3o tempor\u00e1ria de actos administrativos. A Sec\u00e7\u00e3o de Produ\u00e7\u00e3o Vegetal disp\u00f5e de um campo experimental, chefiado pelo Eng. Ant\u00f3nio dos Santos J\u00fanior, um Laborat\u00f3rio de Culturas, dirigido pela Dra. Erminia Cossa, e uma c\u00e2mara fria para conserva\u00e7\u00e3o de amostras vegetais. A Sec\u00e7\u00e3o de Bot\u00e2nica e Fisiologia possui um Laborat\u00f3rio de Fisiologia Vegetal, sob a responsabilidade do Sr. Bas\u00edlio Nguenha, enquanto a Sec\u00e7\u00e3o de Gen\u00e9tica e Melhoramento utiliza as infra-estruturas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e ensino do departamento.
